JOB TITLE: Account Underwriter

REPORTING TO: Underwriting Manager

Purpose of the Job

  • Working closely with each area of the business to promote profitable growth of the Prestige GB and NI Property account.

Job Accountabilities

  • Regular and timely analysis of book to identify both opportunities for growth in profitable areas and to identify and suggest corrective action for poorer performing parts of the account.
  • Timely production and analysis of both regular and ad-hoc MI reports for carrier
  • Regular and timely analysis of quote conversion and retention data – proposing change where necessary to drive improvement.
  • Undertake regular review of Prestige product and conduct regular competitor analysis in order to boost and maintain the position of Prestige within Non-Standard Household market.
  • Play an active role in the investigation, analysis and proposals relating to new Products which the business may be exploring.
  • Play an active role in Prestige GB and NI Audit programme – working with the audit team to assist with queries and working with broker partners to ensure smooth and timely implementation of any required action plan.
  • Be responsible for day-to-day management of Flood Re
  • Act as a referral point for Prestige GB U/W
  • Be responsible for issuing and maintaining internal Underwriting
  • Be responsible for the issuing and subsequent monitoring of Broker Trading
  • Play an active role in internal projects including but not limited to Product Development, Compliance Conduct, Regulatory changes.
  • Work closely and seamlessly with Prestige GB U/W, Distribution Teams and external brokers whilst understanding and working on solutions to break down any barriers to trade which exist.

What we’re looking for

  • 5 GCSEs grade C or above, or equivalent to include Maths and English/or commensurate experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel
  • Substantial experience in a Home Underwriting Capacity
  • Extensive Product knowledge in GB
  • Experience of reviewing product performance at account level.
