Where can you be found?

Since the pandemic I have moved to working from home but prior to this I was located in the Basildon office.

What team do you hang out with (Department)?

I am the manager of the Technical Underwriting team, which currently consists of myself and two technical underwriters. In 2022 we are looking forward to growing the team.

When did you join the Prestige Underwriting Team?

I joined Prestige Underwriting in January 2015, however I have been part of the Insurance Industry for 21 year, so I am pretty experienced in what I do.

What are you likely to be doing on a daily basis?

Each day is different for me and the team. I am responsible for the management of Prestige Underwriting’s home products across all regions. This involves a range of tasks from ensuring the products are updated across our Covernet Portal, upkeep of all home underwriting guides, documentation and policy wordings. My team also manage the underwriting processes, assist with audits and product approval and governance, therefore we are very educated in the Home Portfolio at Prestige Underwriting.

What do you find most challenging about your role and what do you enjoy most?

I would say the answer is the same for both. The challenging aspects are those that I enjoy the most. As a team we are constantly learning and adapting, be it new regulations or a query with one of our products - I thrive on ensuring what we do is the best it can be.

If you weren’t working in the dream sector of insurance, what would you love to be?

I left school and went straight into the insurance world and have never done anything different. If you had asked me then as a fresh-faced school leaver, I can’t imagine I would have said insurance was my dream job, but now I don’t ever see myself doing anything else. My other joy in life is being a Mum, it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.

Do you have a role model in life / business? If so, who and why?

I would say my parents. They taught me to work hard and be respectful.

When you aren’t working what are you getting up to?

Being a Mum to my daughter and a fur Mum to my rather naughty cockapoo puppy. We are also renovating our home that we bought during the pandemic. We moved from a new build to a 1970’s converted bungalow which needs a lot of love and TLC.

Motivated, productive and a little bit scatty!

What’s the dream for the year ahead?

To continue to turn our dream house into a home and to enjoy time spent with our family and friends.
